- ItemRole of Electronic Banking in Enhancing Human Resource Performance and Customer Satisfaction: Evidence from Guaranty Trust Bank PLC, Nigeria.(2013) Olanipekun, Wahid Damilola; Brimah, Aminu Nassir; Ajagbe, Suraj TundeThis study examines the impact of e-banking on human resource performance and customer satisfaction. The objective of the study was to determine how the introduction and usage of e-banking product and services has generally impacted on the effectiveness and efficiency of banks service delivery. Questionnaire administration technique via a structured questionnaire was used to source for data and information from fifty randomly selected respondents which constitutes the sample and Chi-square analysis was used to analyze the data. The study revealed that introduction of electronic banking has impacted positively on the bank's human resource performance, in terms of improved efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery by their workforce even as it has enhanced customers’ satisfaction. The study recommends that critical infrastructures that aid the usage of e-banking products should be provided.

Primary data was used to elicit information from employees and secondary data from the compamy financial statements (CSR report) was used to compliment the primary data. The result revealed that CSR influences employee dedication and commitment to the organisation. It was recommended that firms should maintain CSR practices
- ItemNigerian Growth Model: Lessons from China(2013) Oloni Elizabeth Funlayo; Brimah Aminu Nassir; Afolabi, Hafsat OlatanwaChina has experienced rapid economic growth since 1977 when the country begins its reform. Before this time, the growth in Nigeria was above that of China; but the country has surpassed Nigeria since early 1980s as it has a constant and steady growth since then. The Nigerian economic growth kept fluctuating. The paper investigated therefore, the trend in the economic growth of both countries and tries to investigate the factors that lead to such economic growth in China so as to apply it to the Nigerian economy. Both descriptive and inferential statistics are used to investigate this. It was revealed that the Chinese reforms that started in 1977 has led to the stability in the growth rate of the country. The trend showed that the growth in China is driven by export and foreign investment. An investigation of these variables on economic growth in Nigeria has shown that, export had positive but not significant impact on economic growth in Nigeria. Investments on the other hand had positive and significant impact on economic growth. The public expenditure also had positive and significant impact on economic growth. It is recommended that the export base should be diversified to have advantage of export driven growth.

Despite most policies adopted by the nation such as the Nigerian Enterprises Promotion Decree of 1977 which restricted the activities of foreign investors in investing in the Nigerian economy. Foreign investment still account for a greater promotion of cash flow in the gross domestic product (GDP) of the nation. The amount of funds available to every investment depends on the level of savings and consumption. It is general rule that every frugal economy assumed that I= S (where I = investment, S = Savings, C = Consumption and Y = Income). The objective of this study is to basically evaluate the roles play by foreign investments in the Nigerian economy using the period between 1998 and 2009. The gap filling theory was adopted to serve as the foundation bases of this work. Various readings and review of relevant textbooks, journals, magazines and internet were use as data collection.

The theory explains how media audience access specific media with their attention cast on certain content, all for the purpose of deriving gratifications. Primary data were used to elicit information from the students that constitute the respondents and was analysed using the Pearson Moment Correlation Coefficient. The results revealed that about 49% of variation in the choice of mobile network selection is explained by advertising. It was recommended that organizations should endeavour at all time to have a planned and systematic advertising programme in place as this would help to make their promotional implementation effective.

Without doubt, the economy of a nation whose citizen have been inflicted with poverty will be disturbed since the people responsible for developing the economy had initially been impoverished. This pap r question the administrative style of the Nigerian leaders in terms of job creation as a means of eradicating poverty and management of the existing industries via the provision of essential amenities such as (electricity, good roads) in ensuring their continuous production at maximum capacity. The paper then concludes that until our leaders tackle corruption in administration, economic growth might continue to be a mirage, while povertystill lingers in the Nigerian nation.

This study adopted a phenomenological research methodology to examine the strategic marketing management literature in an attempt to attain their desired level of performance. Literature findings suggest that strategic marketing is a driverof competitive advantage and organizational performance in an environment that has been described as changing, dynamic, discontinuous and turbulent. Its adoption helps to enhance the development of new product/service for existing markets. These findings, along with other interesting findings which constitute the empirical evidence revealed that adoption and implementation of strategic marketing practices makes an organization not only to be proactive to changes but also initiate positive changes that would consequently lead to competitive advantage and sustainable performance. It was recommended that organization should continuously maintain, sustain and improve strategic management practices since it is an indispensable tool for organization performance.
- ItemA STRATEGY FOR COMBATING CORRUPTION AND ACHIEVING SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT(2015) Wahid Damilola OLANIPEKUN; Aminu Nassir BRIMAH; Folaranmi Modupe OLOWOLENINigeria is a country endowed with natural and human resources, but still fall short of the developmental progress required to positively impact the well being of the average Nigerian. Corruption has been described as one of the greatest challenges of our time and prevalence of high level of corruption in governance has been identified as one major obstacle militating against rapid growth and development. This study examines the benefits of TSA strategy and concludes that despite the plethora of legislation and agencies fighting corruption, it has remained pervasive because of the disconnection between the posturing of leaders and their conduct and failure to utilize universally accepted and tested strategies; a good example which is TSA. It therefore recommends that the government through the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF) must come up with the guidelines and modalities that will strengthen the process of TSA implementation.

The paper explains the numerous efforts adopted by government to engender food security in the country but which yielded infinitesimal results. It concludes that the problem of food insecurity in Nigeria can be solved with collective efforts of the relevant stakeholders: international donors, government, professional institutions, banks, nongovernmental organisations, faith based institutions, schools, families, farmers, and media. The paper recommends the adoption of social entrepreneurship initiative by all stakeholders as an alternative strategy for achieving the dream of food security in Nigeria.

- ItemThe Impact of Corporate Social Responsibility on Corporate Profitability - Evidence from MTN, Nigeria.(2016) WAHID OLANIPEKUN; AMINU BRIMAH, ZULFAH ABDULKAREEM; RUKAYAT RABIUThis study investigated the impact of corporate social responsibility on corporate profitability with particular emphasis on MTN, Nigeria. Secondary data were extracted from the MTN Nigeria and MTN Foundation Annual reports and accounts respectively. Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient was used to test the hypotheses and show the relationship between CSR expenditure and financial performance. Findings revealed that CSR expenditure is significantdy correlated to profitability at 0.05 level of significance. The study concluded that significant relationship exist between CSR expenditure and tinanciai performance. Based on the findings., there is need for ali organizations to engage in CSR because businesses cannot successful operate in a community which they ignore. This implies that to help make the socicty a better place to work in, business shouid engage in activities beneficial to the society in generaB as this would even provide positive net benefits i.e. better image, subscriber patronage and loyalty on the part of stakeholders who see themselves as part of the business.

Primary data with the aid of a structured questionnaire was used to obtain information from respondents which constitute customers of Zenith Bank, Diamond Bank and GTBank within llorin metropolis. The data collected were analyzed using both descriptive such as frequencies, mean, standard deviation and inferential statistics of mulliple regression analysis and Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coeficient (PPMCC) with the aid of STATA 11.0 compuler statistical software. The findings revealed that relationship marketing practices has positive impact on customer salisfaction in the selected commercial banks. II was recommended that commercial banks should continuously maintain, sustain and improve their relationship marketing Strategies and practices since it is an indispensable tool in achieving customer satisfaction and organization performance. This is even as all relevant stakeholders in the bank must be involvedin implementing relationship marketing strategies
- ItemImplementing Treasury Single Account (TSA) In Nigeria: Current Issues, Benefits And Prospects(2016-12) Olanipekun, W.D; Brimah, A.N; Usman, T.B.; Giwa, K.OThis study examines the current issues, benefits and future prospects of implementing the treasury single account policy in Nigerian. The implementation of the policy is geared towards promoting transparency and facilitates compliance with sections 80 and 162 of the 1999 Constitution. The policy measure is specifically in line with the (Nigeria Vision 20:2020 goal) as it is part of the Public Financial Management reforms which falls under pillar 3 of the National Strategy for Public Service Reforms towards vision 20:2020 aimed at driving development and modernizing the country’s payment system. This study concludes that despite the bottleneck and challenges that may be associated with a policy of this nature, the benefits far outweigh the cost thus it is recommended that all efforts should be harnessed to ensure full implementation because the long run benefit will not only allow these present generations to meet their needs but allow the next and future generations to meet their needs
- ItemComparative Analysis of Service Quality and Customers' Satisfaction of Interest and Non-Interest Based Cooperative Societies in Ilorin Emirate(2017) Mustapha Yusuf Ismaila; Mukaila Aremu; Aaminu Nassir BrimahDissatisfaction of customers (members) with the quality of service of cooperative societies in the recent past has put their growth and survival in question. The need for qualitative service has made customers to join different types of cooperative societies with different mode of operations especially interest and non-interest based cooperative societies. The study specifically examines the difference between service quality and levels of satisfaction derived by members of Interest and Non-interest based Cooperative Societies as well as the relationship between service quality and members’ levels of satisfaction. It employed a combination of stratified and convenience sampling techniques to select 180 target respondents from the study area. Independent t-test and regression analysis were employed as analytical technique. The study found that there is difference between service quality and satisfaction levels of members of interest and non-interest based cooperative societies and there is significant relationship between service quality and satisfaction levels of members of cooperative societies. It was recommended that Management of the two categories of cooperative societies should explore the service quality dimensions as means of competitive advantage in their respective areas of operations.
- ItemCommercial Policy’s Trade Facilitation Effects on Cost of Operations as Determinants of Multinational Corporations Employability(2017) Akinbola, Olufemi Amos; Issa, Abdulraheem; Brimah, Aminu NassirThis study examined commercial policy’s trade facilitation effects on employability of multinational corporations in Nigeria considering whether trade facilitation(TF), has a significant effect on the multinational Corporations employability expressed in cost of operation (COP). The study adopted cross sectional research design and considered 5 multinational corporations in the food and beverage and conglomerate sub-sector in Nigeria based on random sampling technique by employing primary data. The sample size constituted the lower, middle and senior level staff of the multinational Corporations at their headquarters and plants to achieve the objectives of this study based on the hypothesis that was formulated. Both descriptive and inferential statistical techniques were employed. The statistical tools used included cross tabulations, Mean, Regression and Correlation analysis with the aid of SPSS computer packages. The results showed that trade facilitation (TF) have significant effect on cost of operation (at P=0.000). In conclusion, the study reflected that each of the performance indicators under consideration related with commercial policy and employability implies the need for compliance by multinational corporations to be ensured as governmental follow up in areas of trade facilitation is pertinent to employment creation. The study recommends that; government is encouraged to continue to play her regulatory, facilitating and participatory roles to foster an enabling operating environment as it will contribute towards firm competitiveness in the domestic and global marketplace.

Despite these studies, however, studies attempted to investigate the impact of HRM pracices and employee performance has reported mixed findings; therefore, an interacting variable is suggested. This paper proposes employee engagement as potential moderator to enhance the relationship between HRM practices and employee performance. Five hypotheses were theoretically developed base on the reviewed literature, to be achieved if the model empirically validated.

- ItemNigeria Defined Contributory Pension and the Perceeption Difference on the Notification of Pension Monthly Contributiion and Remittances(The Faculty of Management Sciences, Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, 2017-09) NURUDEEN BELLO AHMED; Professor MUHAMMAD SANI UMAR; Dr. ABUBAKAR SAMBO JUNAIDUThis study is on the perception difference between retired and serving employees in Sokoto state on the Notification of Pension Monthly Contribution and Remittances as and when due on the Defined Contributory Pension Scheme (DCP). Employees of federal ministries, departments and agencies (MDA's) in Sokoto state served as the population of the study. Multi stage sampling technique was used to arrive at a sample of 735 respondents. Questionnaire was used to gather information from the respondents. The DCP is the independent variable while the dependent variable is the perception difference measured by the receipt of notification of pension monthly contributions as and when due by the employees and the retirees. Descriptive and inferential statistics were employed to present and analyze the data. The study found that serving employees and retirees in the MDA's have no differences expressed in perception in terms of receipt of notification of pension monthly contributions and remittances as and when due. The study therefore recommended among others PENCOM should take notification of pension monthly contribution and remittances very serious by way of mandating PFAs send statements of pension accounts to the clients as the notification of pension monthly contributions alerts contributors their status of pension assets. It also provides avenue for the employee to know his or her PFA's performance in-terms of accruable interest or commission to their assets. This is necessary before it becomes an issue likely to go out of hand.
