Abstract
Finance is on indispensable element for the proper functioning and success of the educational system. It is an essential tool in achieving an objective. This study analyzed the effect of finance on academic performance of selected private secondary schools in lorin metropolis. The study specific objective is to ascertain the effect of finance on academic performance. The study employed mixed method using triangulation approach. 277 Questionnaire was distributed on-line; data gathered were analyzed using inferential descriptive statistics and interview. The interview conducted was analyzed using Nnivo 12. Multiple Regression analysis was used to test the hypotheses and the result of the hypotheses showed the significant effect of finance on instructional quality design which was less than the p-value of
0.1. Based on the findings of the study, th" Yesults showed that finance has a significant effect on academic performance of selected private secondary schools in llorin metropolis. Therefore, the following recommendations were made, 26% of the total budget of the school should be allocated to promote education and there is the need for Philanthropist to assist the less privileged who are outstanding in academics but are financially constraint, they should be given scholarship awards, learning material to enhance their performance.
