- ItemA STRATEGY FOR COMBATING CORRUPTION AND ACHIEVING SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT(2015) Wahid Damilola OLANIPEKUN; Aminu Nassir BRIMAH; Folaranmi Modupe OLOWOLENINigeria is a country endowed with natural and human resources, but still fall short of the developmental progress required to positively impact the well being of the average Nigerian. Corruption has been described as one of the greatest challenges of our time and prevalence of high level of corruption in governance has been identified as one major obstacle militating against rapid growth and development. This study examines the benefits of TSA strategy and concludes that despite the plethora of legislation and agencies fighting corruption, it has remained pervasive because of the disconnection between the posturing of leaders and their conduct and failure to utilize universally accepted and tested strategies; a good example which is TSA. It therefore recommends that the government through the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF) must come up with the guidelines and modalities that will strengthen the process of TSA implementation.

In fact, most pharmaceutical companies have paid limited emphasis on this factor as a major impediment to the smooth operations of achieving its objectives particularly satisfying customers. This study therefore examines the effect of supply chain integration on customer satisfaction of pharmaceutical firms in Kwara State of Nigeria. The paper adopted a cross sectional survey design, involving the use of questionnaire as research instrument. The population comprises of the 283 employees in the pharmaceutical firms in Kwara State and employed the convenience sampling techniques to arrive at a sample of 169 respondents. The study with the aid of structural equation model analyze the data. The study found that product positioning will assist in an effective supply chain in pharmaceutical products performance. Based on research findings, the study revealed there is a significant relationship between supply chain integration and customer satisfaction. The study recommends that there is a need for an effective supply chain to satisfy customers' always needs. This means that proper product positioning can form the basis for which organizational success can be achieved. This is because the main aim for satisfying customer needs is having an uninterrupted supply of the products on the market.

Consequently, proactive catrepreneurial practice shapes the environment by creating beforehand a platform that contains he challenges that may come with new products, technologies, and administrative procedures, as opposed to reacting to the environment. Typically, proactive business enterprises have a forward-looking perspective, the ability to anticipate and be prepared for the future, and a pioneering spirit (Terence & Titiom, 2009). According to Gunday, Ulusoy, Kilic, and Alpkan (2011), a formidable proactive strategic posture equips businesses with the ability to anticipate potential changes in the business environment and even exert a favourable influence over it. Strong proactive thinking is likely to provide businesses with a variety of capabilities to anticipate the needs of customers and the reactions of market competitors. Proactive entrepreneurial practice is acting in anticipation of future problems, needs, or changes; as such, it may be essential to corporate entrepreneurship as it suggests a forward-looking perspective accompanied by innovative or new-venturing behaviour. Proactive entrepreneurial practice relates to the significance of initiative in the entrepreneurial process.

A.; HARUNA, T. M.; ZEKERI, A.; MUSTAPHA, N. M.Proactive entrepreneurial practice and market share are two critical components of enterprise productivity and problem-solving dynamism. A proactive entrepreneur anticipates market share growth and pursues business opportunities that will meet future needs. Unfortunately, this has not always been the case in our dynamic business environment. As a result, this study investigates the relationship between proactive entrepreneurial practice and market share of micro. Small and medium enterprises in Niger State From a total population of 425, 000 registered micro, small, and medium enterprises in Niger State. The study raw a sample size of 400 enterprises using the Yamane formula at a 5% level of significance. A five-point Likert type questionnaire was used and administered, as well as a Cronbach Alpha (a) test. Items on proactive entrepreneurial practice were found to be 829 (82.9%) reliable, while items on market share were 0.836 (83.6%). Findings showed that proactive entrepreneurial practice and market share are significantly and favourably correlated, and it was concluded that the regression line of Proac =051 + 0.999Ms can he used to predict the value of market share under different levels of competition. The study recommends that MSMEs owners in Niger State embrace the best practice of proactive measures in managing possible issues that may arise from the operations of different market forces by putting strategies and tactics in place that will automatically respond to unexpected challenges as well as promote the development and expression of entrepreneurial work behaviour among the employees engaged in their enterprises.
- ItemAfrican journal of stability and development(2019-11) Aminu Nassir Brimah; Nurudeen Bello AhmedThis study examined the effects of entrepreneurial characteristics on the performance of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Kwara State Nigeria. Using a multistage sampling procedures, a total of one hundred and fifty entrepreneurs were selected and participated in the survey. A structured questionnaire was adopted for data collection on entrepreneur characters affecting performance of SMEs. The data were sought and analysed using SMART PLS. The Cronbach's alpha of 0.892 obtained from the data was used for the analysis. Based on the findings derived from PLS SEM creativity, proactiveness, self-confidence, risk taking have significant positive effects on profitability of SMEs.
- ItemAL-HIKMAH MANAGEMENT Review(2021) Nurudeen bello ahmedAbout two decades away from the implementation of the New Pension Act 2004 and the repealed Act 2014 as amended subjected the "ing conditions of older persons (retirees) in Nigeria to a more detenoratedanderodingstatus due to economic hardship and purchasing power largely attributed to the value of the Naira, particularly on the care forthe old-age. The study specifically looked at sections 3 (Establishment of contributory pension scheme 2014 as Amended), 4 (Rate of contribution to the scheme) and 7(Retirement benefits). Relevant provisions under the PRAct, 2014 with particular reference to the sections 3,4 and 7 were reviewed having also considered relevant literatures with respect to period under economic recession and the effects of it on retirees. Content Analysis was adopted to enable proffer suggestions and recommendations on the study. The studyconcluded that it has been established that economic recession once hit, effects retiree benefits through the instrumentality of the PFA's. The study suggests that sections 4(2) and 7 of PRA Act, 2014 be reviewed legislatively as a result of frequent entry of Nigeria into recession which posit economic hardship akin to inflation and the value of the naira.

The paper explains the numerous efforts adopted by government to engender food security in the country but which yielded infinitesimal results. It concludes that the problem of food insecurity in Nigeria can be solved with collective efforts of the relevant stakeholders: international donors, government, professional institutions, banks, nongovernmental organisations, faith based institutions, schools, families, farmers, and media. The paper recommends the adoption of social entrepreneurship initiative by all stakeholders as an alternative strategy for achieving the dream of food security in Nigeria.

Despite most policies adopted by the nation such as the Nigerian Enterprises Promotion Decree of 1977 which restricted the activities of foreign investors in investing in the Nigerian economy. Foreign investment still account for a greater promotion of cash flow in the gross domestic product (GDP) of the nation. The amount of funds available to every investment depends on the level of savings and consumption. It is general rule that every frugal economy assumed that I= S (where I = investment, S = Savings, C = Consumption and Y = Income). The objective of this study is to basically evaluate the roles play by foreign investments in the Nigerian economy using the period between 1998 and 2009. The gap filling theory was adopted to serve as the foundation bases of this work. Various readings and review of relevant textbooks, journals, magazines and internet were use as data collection.
- ItemAnalysis of Market Innovation and Organisational Performance in Nigerian Food and Beverage Manufacturing Sector(2019-03) Bamidele, Ayodeji Gbenga; Abdulraheem, Issa; Brimah, Aminu NassirThe study examined the relationship between market innovation and organizational performance. Survey research design was used in the study. Data for this research was obtained from primary sources with the aid of a structured questionnaire. Krejche and Morgan formular was used to estimate the sample size. 355 copies of questionnaires were administered to employees of the selected companies out of which only 309 copies were found to be useful for data analysis. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics of partial least square structural equation model (PLS-SEM). The hypothesis was tested at 0.05 alpha levels. Findings revealed that market innovation significantly impacts market performance (β =.317, t= 4.720, p=.000). The next vital predictor in order of importance is market innovation and employee performance (β = .313, t= 4.286, p= .000) and finally, market innovation and financial performance (β = .220, t= 4.061, p= .000). The study concludes market innovation is a key determinant of organizational performance. The study recommended that in order to sustain a competitive edge in today’s market; organisations have a twofold mission of continuously generating extra value for their customers whilst thriving to cut costs and increase their productivity. To make this mission possible, the results of this study suggest that organisations give additional importance to market innovations for attaining high organisational performance

The paper then concludes that until our leaders tackle corruption in administration, economic growth might continue to be a mirage, while povertystill lingers in the Nigerian nation.

The study adopted cross sectional research design and considered 5 multinational corporations in the food and beverage and conglomerate sub-sector in Nigeria based on random sampling technique by employing primary data. The sample size constituted the lower, middle and senior level staff of the multinational Corporations at their headquarters and plants to achieve the objectives of this study based on the hypothesis that was formulated. Both descriptive and inferential statistical techniques were employed. The statistical tools used included cross tabulations, Mean, Regression and Correlation analysis with the aid of SPSS computer packages. The results showed that trade facilitation (TF) have significant effect on cost of operation (at P=0.000). In conclusion, the study reflected that each of the performance indicators under consideration related with commercial policy and employability implies the need for compliance by multinational corporations to be ensured as governmental follow up in areas of trade facilitation is pertinent to employment creation. The study recommends that; government is encouraged to continue to play her regulatory, facilitating and participatory roles to foster an enabling operating environment as it will contribute towards firm competitiveness in the domestic and global marketplace.

Survey research design was used in the study. The quantitative data were analyzedusingdescriptive statistics amd inferential statistics of Mann Whitney U Test while the hypothesis was tested at 0.05 alpha levels. The qualitative data were analyzed using content and thematic analysis. Findings revealed that there isn statistically significant difference in CSR practises of selectedNigerian banks and manufacturing firms.Allprobability valueswere found to be higher than 0.05: economic (0.055), social (0.069) and environmental (0.074). Also, findings revealed that the selected firms have consistently reported their CSR initiatives and programmes in the annual reports and accounts. Based on the findings, the study conchuded that with CSR practices and initiatives, companies can obtain a valuable tool thatprovides competition advantage. The study recommended that organisations should embrace the spirit of being socially responsible; because by involving in CSR. it will udd to the goodvill of their companies, thereby, increasing theirfinancial worth eventually, boost the imageof their banks and guining an edge through increasing patronage of theirservices.

The need for qualitative service has made customers to join different types of cooperative societies with different mode of operations especially interest and non-interest based cooperative societies. The study specifically examines the difference between service quality and levels of satisfaction derived by members of Interest and Non-interest based Cooperative Societies as well as the relationship between service quality and members’ levels of satisfaction. It employed a combination of stratified and convenience sampling techniques to select 180 target respondents from the study area. Independent t-test and regression analysis were employed as analytical technique. The study found that there is difference between service quality and satisfaction levels of members of interest and non-interest based cooperative societies and there is significant relationship between service quality and satisfaction levels of members of cooperative societies. It was recommended that Management of the two categories of cooperative societies should explore the service quality dimensions as means of competitive advantage in their respective areas of operations.

- ItemEffect of Corporate Governance on the Performance of Listed Deposit Money Banks in Nigeria(2024) Aminu Nassir Brimah; Nurudeen Bello Ahmed; Ghalib Hammed OlayiwolaThe study examined the impact of corporate governance on the financial performance of deposit money banks in Nigeria. The study looked at how corporate governance prevailing in commercial banks in Nigeria could signal the effectiveness of governance on financial performance. The study employed a longitudinal data design. It combines the features of cross-sectional and time-series designs in a research study. Judgmental sampling technique was used to collect a convenient sample to effectively represent the population while eliminating potential biases especially in surveys. The FUGAZ Banks, representing five commercial banks, were selected for this study. These include First Bank, Access Bank, Zenith Bank, UBA, and GTCO. Secondary data was utilized in this study and information for 2013 through 2022 were obtained from annual reports, accounts, and certain relevant NSE fact books from the Nigerian sampled companies. The study used panel regression to investigate how financial performance for the period was affected by corporate governance structure. Dynamic Panel data regression was used. The analysis indicates corporate governance i.e. board size and audit committee have significant impact on the financial performance of money deposit banks in Nigeria. The study recommends that companies should carefully consider the size and composition of their boards, aiming for a balance between representation and efficiency. Audit committees should consist of independent directors with relevant expertise to effectively oversee financial matters.

K.Customer Relationship Management is a process that caters for the overall dimension of customer identification, managing the insight of the customers and developing relationships with customers with its roots in Relationship Marketing and its focus being customer retention and relationship enhancement while emphasizing the process of integration throughout the organization's multiple sections. The objective of this paper is to determine the extent to which Customer Relationship Management affects customer retention in First Bank Ltd. in lorin metropolis. The study utilises survey research design that uses an infinite population due to the nature of the study. Primary method of data collection was used using closed ended questionnaire with the aid of a five points Likert scale to ascertain the degree of respondents' opinions. The study further used ANOVA and Regression Analyses for descriptive and inferential statistic with the aid of SPSS version 25.0 to analyse the data. Findings from the study showed that R Square is 0.471 and adjusted R square is reported to have 0.467 which implies that 47% of variation of the dependent variable were explained by the independent variable. Therefore, the ANOVA results regressed indicated that the estimated F value of 22.956 has a significant value of 0.000 which is less than the P-Value of 0.05 (p<0.05) which means that customer orientation has significant effect on customer retention. The study therefore concludes that First Bank Ltd should pay adequate attention on customer relationship management for the purpose of retaining their customers. The study recommends that the bank should endeavour to put in place mechanism that will deepen customer relationship by way of engaging customers to have enough orientation about Banking services offered for the purpose of retaining them.

The study adopted a corvenience sampling which involved selection of the section of population that provided information on the study. The data was analysed using standard multiple regression. The findings of revealed that diversity has significant effect on academic staff morale. The mixture of languages, ethnicity, religion and educational background enhance the morale employees in the academic institutions. This study thereby concluded that, diversity presents a great opportunity for organisations particularly the academic institutions in synihesizing different, ideas and teamwork, learning and growth, effective communication and diverse experierce among different gender, ethnic group religion, and cultural background. The study therefore recommends that the institution should target the recruitment of based on educational level, ethnic diversity, and religious diversity to reenergize the academia as their physical resilience, willingness to learn new things and knowledge of technology enhances productivity and thus assist in improving their morale within the organization.
