Abstract
The Universality of Poverty cannot be contested, but its causes and intensity
difer from one society to the other. This also supports the argument that
whot constitute poverty in a society might not be seriously the same in
another society. This perfectly interprets the Nigerian situation. Without
doubt, the economy of a nation whose citizen have been inflicted with poverty
will be disturbed since the people responsible for developing the economy
had
initially been impoverished. This pap r question the administrative style of the
Nigerian leaders in terms of job creation as a means of eradicating poverty
and management of the existing industries via the provision of essential
amenities such as (electricity, good roads) in ensuring their continuous
production at maximum capacity. The paper then concludes that until our
leaders tackle corruption in administration, economic growth might continue
to be a mirage, while povertystill lingers in the Nigerian nation.
