Consequently, proactive catrepreneurial practice shapes the environment by creating beforehand a platform that contains he challenges that may come with new products, technologies, and administrative procedures, as opposed to reacting to the environment. Typically, proactive business enterprises have a forward-looking perspective, the ability to anticipate and be prepared for the future, and a pioneering spirit (Terence & Titiom, 2009). According to Gunday, Ulusoy, Kilic, and Alpkan (2011), a formidable proactive strategic posture equips businesses with the ability to anticipate potential changes in the business environment and even exert a favourable influence over it. Strong proactive thinking is likely to provide businesses with a variety of capabilities to anticipate the needs of customers and the reactions of market competitors. Proactive entrepreneurial practice is acting in anticipation of future problems, needs, or changes; as such, it may be essential to corporate entrepreneurship as it suggests a forward-looking perspective accompanied by innovative or new-venturing behaviour. Proactive entrepreneurial practice relates to the significance of initiative in the entrepreneurial process.
- ItemHRM practices, employee performance, compensation system, job design(2022-06) Malam Salihu Sabiu; Umar Abdullahi Abboh; Nurudeen Bello AhmedThe world is classified a global village due to the development of the internet. Technology as it is often described has taken the space for which people based their survival, including profil-oriented organisations. This study focused on examining the effect of e-Recruitment on. the growth of pharmaceutical companies in llorin, Kwara State. The study employed survey research design through the use of self-administered questionnaire. The study had a population of one hundred and sixty (160) managerial staff of the selected pharmaceutical firms in Kwara State. Data was analysed using descriptive and inferential statistics. With the aid of Correlation and Regressions Analysis and in order to determine and explain the variables used, the study found that; e-recruitment has positive effects on business growth. This is shown by the probability value of 0.081, 0.05 l and 0.053 which is less than the chosen 10% significance level. The study therefore concludes among others that pharmaceutical firms should maintain or adopt the use of e-recruitment in order to boost the company revenue or profit profile. This is because e-recruitment as a new development has helped drop the cumbersome nature of manual recruitment processes to a more robust, transparent and technological exercise. The study therefore recommends that pharmaceutical companies using e-recruitment can maintain their operations and those yet to key into it should adopt he technology.
- ItemThe Relationship between Human Resource Management Practices and Employee Performance in Nigeria Educational Sector, Moderating Effect of Employee Engagement: A Theoretical Approac.(2017-04) Malam Salihu Sabiu; Umar Abdullahi Abboh; Nurudeen Bello AhmedA quite number of factors have been studied as the factors influencing employee performance in organization. Some of these factors include, employee commitment, personality, emotional intelligence, job satisfaction, organizational citizenship behavior among others. While some studies considered investigating the influence of human resource management practices (HRM practices) on employee performance in different context such as America, Asia and European context with very litle in sub-Saharan African countries like Nigeria. However, some of these studies used specific practice while others used groups. Despite these studies, however, studies attempted to investigate the impact of HRM pracices and employee performance has reported mixed findings; therefore, an interacting variable is suggested. This paper proposes employee engagement as potential moderator to enhance the relationship between HRM practices and employee performance. Five hypotheses were theoretically developed base on the reviewed literature, to be achieved if the model empirically validated.
- ItemA Survey on Supply Chain and Customer Satisfaction of Selected Pharmaceutical Companies in Kwara State(2022-01) Nurudeen Bello AhmedSupply chain plays a major role to the success of any production-oriented organization. In fact, most pharmaceutical companies have paid limited emphasis on this factor as a major impediment to the smooth operations of achieving its objectives particularly satisfying customers. This study therefore examines the effect of supply chain integration on customer satisfaction of pharmaceutical firms in Kwara State of Nigeria. The paper adopted a cross sectional survey design, involving the use of questionnaire as research instrument. The population comprises of the 283 employees in the pharmaceutical firms in?" vara State and employed the convenience sampling techniques to arrive at a sample of 169 respondents. The study with the aid of structural equation model analyze the data. The study found that product positioning will assist in an effective supply chain in pharmaceutical products performance. Based on research findings, the study revealed there is a significant relationship between supply chain integration and customer satisfaction. The study recommends that there is a need for an effective supply chain to satisfy customers' always needs. This means that properproduct positioning can form the basis for which organizational success can be achieved. This is because the main aim for satisfying customer needs is having an uninterrupted supply of the products on the market
- ItemPERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT OF THE DEFINED CONTRIBUTORY PENSION SCHEME: A STUDY OF FEDERAL GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES IN SOKOTO STATE(2020-12) Nurudeen Bello AhmedThe Defined Contributory Pension Scheme also known as the New Contributory Pension Scheme was introduced in 2004 mainly to bring succor to employees in both the public and private sectors access to their pension benefits with ease. Unlike what obtains in the previous pension plans associated with severing consequence of failure necessitated the birth of the Defined Contributory Pension in Nigeria. Yet the plan did not go unnoticed with complaints such as employees opening retirement savings account (RSA) or the temporary retirement savings account (TRSA), awareness of interest or commission accruable to pension assets, notification of pension monthly contribution as and when due as well as the accessibility to pension assets. These are the problems the study seeks to find answers to. The study major objective through the stated instrumentality was to find out the level of the policy effectiveness. The study used primary data generated from Federal government employees and retirees in Sokoto state through the administration of a closed ended structured questionnaire. ANOVA and Spearman Correlation were used to test the hypotheses with the aid of Stata and SPSS. The study found that there is no significant difference between the opinions of serving employees and retirees in terms of opening of Retirement Savings Account or Temporary Retirement Savings Account, that there is a significant relationship between employees and retirees in the Ministries, Departments and Agencies in terms of awareness of interest or commission accruable to pension assets, that serving employees and retirees in the Ministries, Departments and Agencies have difference in opinion in terms of receipt of notification of pension monthly contributions and remittances as and when due, and that there was a significant dilference between serving employees and retirees in terms of accessibility of pension benefits after retirement. On the basis of the foregoing findings, the major conclusion drawn from this study is that the defined contributory pension scheme has performed credibly since its inception and that when adequately allowed functioning will be effective to achieve the essence for which it is enacted.
