- ItemA QUALITATIVE EVALUATION OF COMPATIBILITY OF DIGITAL BANKING CHANNELS AND BEHAVIOUR OF NIGERIAN CONSUMERS(Faculty of Management Sciences, Rivers State University, 2022) Abdulazeez Alhaji SalauDigital banking channels are products of advances in Information and Communication Technology (ICT). The proliferation of telecommunications and the advancement of technology, especially mobile technology, have spurred growth of mobile banking. In Nigeria, the economy is largely cash oriented with increase in cash transactions despite the availability of technology for remote transactions. This indicated that a large number of people still prefer to do cash transaction than using digital channels. Hence, this study focused on the behaviour of customers who are hesitant to carry out financial transactions using digital banking channels. The study adopted an exploratory research approach using convenience sampling method to elicit information from eight selected bank customers through a semi structured interview guide as research instrument. Data was analyzed using thematic analysis which involved the identification of themes based on the responses to address the objectives of the study. The study revealed that the respondents have adequate knowledge of digital banking and are frequent users. Also, the respondents identified various levels of fraud as significant risks and expressed fear and concern about the safety of their transactions.

- ItemAcademic Entrepreneurship In Nigeria: A book of Reading(University of Abuja Press, 2023) Abdulazeez Alhaji SalauThe primary aim of this chapter is to highlight the roles of business incubation and science parks in facilitating academic entrepreneurship. This chapter explores how best to utilize business incubation and science parks in managing the connection between business incubation centres and higher educational institutions. It examines the activities of business incubation and science parks as they relate to entrepreneurial universities and provides an overview of the key challenges associated with developing entrepreneurial universities. Findings are presented in the form of a conceptual framework that facilitates an improved understanding of the benefits of connecting the capabilities, activities, and outcomes associated with higher education and business incubation. The goal of this chapter is to contribute to a general understanding of the economic growth and development impact of business incubators, thereby assisting governments and policymakers in creating environments that promote entrepreneurship and national development. The definitions, types, strategies, and programmes of business incubation are all covered in detail in this chapter. This chapter also covers the stages of incubation programs, including the start-up, early-stage, and expansion stages. The statistical evaluations of business incubators all over the world are also discussed. The chapter offers a lens by which to consider the design of BICs as they relate to Academic entrepreneurship and offers pathways to consider future research.
- ItemAN ASSESSMENT OF PERCEPTIONS ON ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND SELF-RELIANCE AMONG COOPERATIVE SOCIETIES IN KWARA STATE, NIGERIA(2019) Abdulazeez Alhaji SalauThis study examined cooperative society’s perception on their entrepreneurship and self reliance activities, using kwara state, Nigeria as a case study. The study was hinged on two construct- the cooperative entrepreneurship and self-reliance. For the study, twelve (12) cooperative societies were selected. The finding revealed amongst other things that self-reliance is sequel to cooperative entrepreneurship as it allows members to govern their own lives and economies. Cooperative are community rooted and democratic which allows them to attain self-reliance through their futuristic plans and internally generated funds. The study concluded that cooperative entrepreneurship is premised on the principle of self-reliance and self-sustenance as members were able to govern themselves through cooperatives. It is recommended that viable cooperative entrepreneurship activities should be disintegrated from external influences of government and other agencies. Cooperative legislations should be tailored towards making cooperatives entrepreneurially friendly.
- ItemCoopetition in Small Business: A Strategic Option for Down Stream Photo Industry in Kwara State(Department of Accountancy, Yobe State University, 2022) Abdulazeez Alhaji SalauAs a way of managing risk and maintaining stable income most micro and small enterprises have engaged in forward and backward diversification as well as joint ventures and mergers. This has introduced other dimensions to the relationships that earlier exists among companies. Hence, micro and small enterprises In Nigeria are largely becoming multifaceted in approach and relationships. Hence, this study examined the relationships that exist among companies in the downstream photo industries in Kwara State with a view to proffering implementable relationship among the firms. Exploratory research method is applied to gain better insight into the multi-faceted relationships among micro and small enterprises in the photo industries. It is observed that acquisition of equipment, expansion/diversification machine breakdown often results into multifaceted relationship. The study also finds out that supportive networking approach works better than strict competition. It is also revealed that buyers/suppliers in direct competition as well as partners in competition are the commonest multifaceted relationships among the down streams photo industries. The study recommends further studies into the management of the multifaceted relationships that exists among the MSMEs in Nigeria.
- ItemEFFECT OF CULTURAL ORIENTATION ON ENTREPRENEURIAL CLUSTER INITIATIVES IN KWARA STATE NIGERIA(International Journal of Advance Research and Innovative Ideas in Education, 2018) Abdulazeez Alhaji SalauThis research x-rays entrepreneurial cluster and Cultural Orientation in Kwara State. This study therefore surveyed the extent to which entrepreneurial cluster can be influenced by cultural orientation. A total of 153 copies of questionnaire were administered among rice cluster along the Patigi and Edu value chain in Kwara. Analysis of the data through the use of descriptive tables and simple regression analysis of the SPSS package, shows that a significant percentage of cultural orientation is required for a cluster to be entrepreneurial .The study therefore concluded that the cultural orientation must be put into consideration in entrepreneurial cluster initiatives.
- ItemEFFECT OF DIGITAL LITERACY RESPONSIBILITY OF TELECOMS ON ENTREPRENEURIAL ECOSYSTEM BUILDING(Fuoye Journal of Management, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, 2023) Abdulazeez Alhaji SalauThis study investigates the relationship between digital literacy responsibility of telecommunication companies and entrepreneurship ecosystem building. A quantitative approach was adopted to explore the association of digital literacy responsibility and entrepreneurship ecosystem building. The study was conducted using a survey of 400 entrepreneurs from Kwara state. The survey involved questions related to the digital literacy responsibility of telecommunication companies and entrepreneurship ecosystem building. The survey results were then analyzed using descriptive statistics. The findings revealed that digital literacy responsibility of telecommunication companies is positively associated with entrepreneurship ecosystem building. The study also found that digital literacy responsibility is an important factor in determining the level of successful ecosystem building. The study concluded that digital literacy responsibility of telecommunication companies is an important factor in successful entrepreneurship ecosystem building. The study therefore recommend that telecommunication companies should invest in expanding digital infrastructure, especially in underserved areas, to improve access to technology and the internet. They should also develop comprehensive digital literacy programs that cover a wide range of digital competencies. Tailor these programs to address the specific needs and challenges faced by entrepreneurs, ensuring they are equipped to navigate the digital landscape. Partner with entrepreneurship-focused organizations to integrate digital literacy training into existing programs.
- ItemENTREPRENEURIAL SKILLS ACQUISITION AND EMPLOYMENT GENERATION IN KWARA STATE(Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF ADVANCED RESEARCH IN MULTIDISCIPLINARY STUDIES (IJARMS), 2024-06) Abdulazeez Alhaji SalauThe acquisition of skills has demonstrably ascended to the forefront of societal priorities due to its undeniable impact on advancing socioeconomic well-being. In terms of the economy, gaining new skills revitalizes markets and creates new opportunities for unemployed graduates and young individuals. Youth unemployment remains an ongoing problem in Nigeria, posing significant challenges for the nation. Addressing this issue and finding viable solutions has become increasingly urgent.The qualitative study conducted in Kwara State explored entrepreneurial skills acquisition and employment generation among alumni of IVTEC AjaseIpo. Through face-to-face interviews with 12 alumni, the study focused on skills acquired, methods of skills acquisition, and employment through entrepreneurial endeavors. Findings revealed a synthesis of technical skills, entrepreneurial skills, ICT competencies, soft skills, and adaptability/resilience among participants. These skills were acquired through hands on training, real-world projects, industry internships, interactive learning, mentorship, and extracurricular activities. Participants leveraged their skills to establish successful entrepreneurial ventures, contributing to job creation and economic development in the region. The study underscores the importance of holistic skill development and entrepreneurship education in preparing individuals for the workforce and fostering sustainable economic growth. Recommendations include prioritizing practical entrepreneurship education in educational curricula, establishing entrepreneurship centers, facilitating industry internships, raising awareness about skill acquisition and entrepreneurship, and providing ongoing support for entrepreneurs. Implementing these recommendations can create an enabling environment for skills acquisition, entrepreneurship, and employment generation, driving economic prosperity in Kwara State.
- ItemENTREPRENEURSHIP AND INNOVATIVE CAPACITY AMONG AGRIBUSINESS CLUSTERS IN NORTH-CENTRAL, NIGERIA(Journal of Al-Hikmah Management Review., 2018) Abdulazeez Alhaji SalauThe themes of entrepreneurship and agribusinesses have continued to echo with a wide range of initiatives around the country. Additionally, the economic instability, resource limitations and environmental uncertainties call for entrepreneurial initiatives as the option for agribusinesses to attain synergy. More so, the innovative prowess in the agricultural sector in Nigeria raises concerns about low attempt at salvaging agricultural sector from its present status. Hence, the study examined the relationship between entrepreneurship and innovative capacity among agribusiness clusters in Kogi, Kwara and Niger States of Nigeria. The study samples were selected using multistage sampling techniques and 342 copies of questionnaire were administered. The data was analyzed using Smart PLS-Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) technique. The results revealed that entrepreneurial initiatives have significant relationship with innovative capacity among agribusinesses. From the study, it was established that networking initiative (T statistics =5. 628), technological adoption (T statistics = 4.478), and entrepreneurial orientation (T statistics =5.912) were essential elements in ensuring innovative capacity. The study thus concluded that entrepreneurial initiatives have strong positive relationship with innovative capacity. The study recommended that technological advancement through research and development and conscious collaboration with relevant institutions should be encouraged.
- ItemEVALUATING THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE AND CLUSTER EXCELLENCE IN KWARA STATE: A QUALITATIVE APPROACH(National Open University of Nigeria Journal of Management and International Development, 2021) Abdulazeez Alhaji SalauNigeria diversification of economy from crude petroleum dependency to other sectors of the economy, particularly agriculture has led in improvement schemes such as agribusiness clusters. Notwithstanding the frightening food security crisis with a growing population becoming increasingly dependent on imported foods, the activities of Fulani cattle rearers, over politicization of agricultural programmes, the dominant subsistence-oriented farm economy, insecurity, paucity of funds and credit, labour scarcity despite overall high unemployment and stagnant technology which had crippled the sector development. The study consequently evaluated the thematic link between sustainable agriculture and cluster excellence in Kwara State, Nigeria. The study population comprises of the twelve clusters who are beneficiaries of the Anchor borrowers Programme. A qualitative approach using focus group discussion was adopted using three groups that were purposively selected. The study found out that clustering businesses along value chain and geographical clusters result in job creation, community development and income generation. The study recommended that enabling environment should be created to enable the clusters perform these fundamental roles. It is also recommended that concentration of businesses in the same geographical location leads to economy of scale in production.

However, this concept is not exactly new and has been the object of attention from a wide variety of management and social scientists for much of this century. In recent years, this phenomenon has attracted renewed interest from academics, practitioners, and the African continent - which have become aware of its central importance in competitive strategy. An understanding of clusters adds an important dimension to the more commonly debated role of personal contact networks in the success of Agricultural. The study adopts a Meta analysis and the use of secondary data. It was concluded that Agriculture in the 21st century requires an urgent turn around. It was recommended that the government should formulate policies, provide legal framework and create enabling environment to support cluster development.
- ItemIMPACT OF PERCEIVED SERVICE VALUE ON CUSTOMER SATISFACTION IN SELECTED NIGERIAN COMMERCIAL BANKS IN LAGOS METROPOLIS(Fountain University Osogbo Journal of Management, 2020) Abdulazeez Alhaji SalauCustomer satisfaction is derived largely from the quality and reliability of products and services. However, almost every Nigerian bank encounters similar problems in meeting customer„s expectation of services. This study examines the impact of customers‟ perceived service value on customer satisfaction in selected commercial banks in Lagos metropolis. Purposive and convenience sampling techniques were used to select 60 customers per bank and a total of 283 out of 300 copies of questionnaire administered were returned from the five selected banks. The techniques employed for data analysis were descriptive analysis and Multiple Regression. The findings of the study showed perceived service to be positively and strongly related with customer satisfaction. The R value 0.759 depicts that perceived service values affects customer satisfaction by 75.9%. This implies that the proportion of variation in the dependent variable is explained by the regression model. The study concluded that customer perceived value is highly subjective and lies solely with the customer. Banks have the responsibility of identifying their customer‟s needs and work towards ensuring their satisfaction. It is recommended that banks should provide alternatives for all products and service channels as this has a means of enhancing customers‟ satisfaction. Customers‟ perception has a significant impact on customers‟ satisfaction and this determines repeat businesses, improved sales and also banks performance.

Com petition has become tenser in various sectors of the economy, organizations are harsh to boost employee morale at work and this situation requires management to be more careful in setting up reward system and remunera tions to its employees in addition to their wages and salaries. The objectives of the study are to examine the effect of Employee Benefit on Job Performance and also to investigate the effect of Work Bonuses on Em ployees Motivation. 124 copies of questionnaire were administered to Cadbury Plc employees in Lagos State, Nigeria to get primary data that treated and tested appropriate research questions and hypotheses accordingly. For the purpose of this study, correlation and descriptive research was employed. The Yamane formula was adopted to determine the sample size. The Statistical Package for Social Sciences and Cronbach’s alpha was employed. The study found out that employee bonus significantly affects employee motivation in business and employee benefit significantly affects job satisfaction in business. The study recommends that organizations need to have a reward system(s) as a standard which is considered fair and equitable. Not having a reward system in an organization will lead to resistance from the employees and also Incentive management and prac tices such as pay incentives and fringe benefits should be based on realistic and standard methods in accordance with industrial benchmarks, indices and procedures and should likewise conform to ethical valuations and practices
- ItemOptimizing Service Delivery in Nigerian Banks: Leveraging Timeliness and Prioritization Strategies(African Journal of Management and Business Research, 2024-06-30) Abdulazeez Alhaji SalauIn the banking sector, time has to be managed because with less time high quality services will be provided that means a bank will be in a position to retain customers and get more of them hence generate more income. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of timeliness and prioritization at workplace: Analysis of cause and effect on service delivery in the Nigerian banking sector. This study uses descriptive design method, while the type of data used is primary data obtained through structured questionnaire. The population of the study was 384 customers of the three selected retail banking institutions with a sample size of 384 using Godden (2004) formula. The target population of this study is made up of all customers of First bank, Access bank and United Bank for Africa (UBA) located in Ilorin metropolis, Kwara State, Nigeria. Data was analysed using analysis of variance (ANOVA), while result of regression revealed planning of time has a positive and significant effect on service delivery with coefficient value of 0.194 and a critical value of t=2.435, p-value (0. 016) < 0.05. The study therefore recommends that Banks should go beyond offering basic services which are transactional in nature, but also concentrate on developing good relationship with customers with the sincere motive of satisfying and retaining them

In Lagos State, the study looked at how succession planning affected the viability of family-owned janitorial service companies. The study used a cross-sectional survey with a descriptive methodology to gather data from 145 cleaning service companies registered with the Cleaning Practitioners Association of Nigeria (CPAN) and operating in the state of Lagos. Primary data were collected for the study utilizing a standardized questionnaire. Tables were used to illustrate the data, and multiple regression was used to test the hypothesis. The study's primary goal was to determine how succession planning affects sustainability. The study discovered that family-owned janitorial service businesses in Lagos State applied succession planning initiatives to a moderate extent. Very few of the companies showed any indication that they were conducting succession planning. The survey found that only a small number of organizations used various succession planning strategies, such as ensuring that work continues even without the founder, resolving conflicts, sharing vision, and educating successors. In order to promote a smooth transition from one generation to the next, the study advised family business owners to always encourage the capability and dedication of their successors by exposing them to training and involvement in the business.

- ItemTECHNOLOGICAL BASED CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AMONG TELECOMMUNICATION FIRMS AND THE ENTREPRENEURIAL ECOSYSTEM BUILDING(FULafia International Journal of Business and Allied Studies, 2023) Abdulazeez Alhaji SalauThe telecommunications sector in Nigeria has been at the forefront of this convergence in recent years, utilizing technical breakthroughs to propel important projects and support the expansion of the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the nation. The extent to which digital inclusion duty affects ecosystem formation, despite the need for it, is yet unknown. The main goal is to investigate how digital literacy and responsibility affect the development of an entrepreneurial environment. The population of the study is the clients of the telecom enterprises in Kwara State. A mixture of observation and survey was used as the methodology for this study, and a questionnaire functioned as the tool for gathering data. The data demonstrated that the majority of digital literacy duties had a favorable and substantial influence on EEB. However, it was shown that one particular component of digital literacy had a detrimental effect on EEB. It was determined that responsibilities for digital inclusion have a substantial and advantageous influence on developing entrepreneurial ecosystems. To increase access to technology and the internet, the report advises telecommunications companies to invest in growing digital infrastructure, particularly in underserved regions. This will promote broad involvement in the entrepreneurial ecosystem and help close the digital gap
- ItemTHEMATIC ANALYSIS OF ENTREPRENEURIAL MARKETING AND PERFORMANCE OF SMALL SCALE ENTERPRISES (SSES) IN KWARA STATE, NIGERIA(2020) Abdulazeez Alhaji SalauMarketing practice in the 21st century is a tough one for marketing professionals because the market place is so dynamic that traditional marketing concepts and tools alone cannot cope with. Marketing practices require something extra by way of entrepreneurship skills to complement traditional marketing, a mindset for opportunity driven and innovativeness. Today’s marketplace presents small business enterprises and their owners/managers/entrepreneurs, who have little or no structural knowledge of marketing, yet are making tremendous progress in the marketplace through entrepreneurial skills. Hence, the study examined the impact of entrepreneurial marketing on the performance of small business enterprises in Kwara State. Phenomenological research design through the use of interviews was adopted for the study. The study randomly conducted an interview with ten selected eateries. The results revealed that entrepreneurial marketing dimensions( Innovativeness, value creation, Pro-activeness, and customer intensity) have a strong effect on the performance of SBES. It also revealed entrepreneurial marketing has an effect on small business performance. Other dimensions of entrepreneurial marketing were also revealed from the thematic analysis. The study concluded that entrepreneurial marketing significantly impacts the business performance of SBEs. The study recommends that SBEs should intensify more on the adoption and practice of entrepreneurial marketing dimension mentioned in this study to have better performance on their business. Also, there is a need for the private sector to play an important role in the development and shaping of entrepreneurial marketing dimensions.
