dc.description.abstractThere is a pervasive anxiety all over the places that hoodlums, street urchins and cultists are set to of control over the space nationwide. Islam recognises the family as one of the most potent institutions that enhances the Islamic Ummah. Islam has comprehensive legal codes which address the issue of protection of children as well as responsibilities of the family, government and the ciety. The responsibilities are virtually synonymous from one arm to the other. It is important to note that Islam considers a child (newly born) to be pure, a state to maintain at his parents mercy. Narrated Abu Huraira (RA) saying: "The Prophet of Allah (SAW) said "Every child is born with pure and sinless nature. It is the parents that make him up a Christian or Jew... (Bukhari Vol. 2, Babu Ma gila fi Aolaad 1385). According to Ahmed (2011), children are deemed to have been born innocent and Muslims are urged to undertake measures to ensure that conflict and viciousness of adulthood does not contaminate them. Indeed, several rights have been identified as belonging to child in the context of the Qur'an and the Hadith of the Prophet (SAW).
