dc.description.abstractThis study examined the effects of entrepreneurial characteristics on the performance of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Kwara State Nigeria. Using a multistage sampling procedures, a total of one hundred and fifty entrepreneurs were selected and participated in the survey. A structured questionnaire was adopted for data collection on entrepreneur characters affecting performance of SMEs. The data were sought and analysed using SMART PLS. The Cronbach's alpha of 0.892 obtained from the data was used for the analysis. Based on the findings derived from PLS SEM creativity, proactiveness, self-confidence, risk taking have significant positive effects on profitability of SMEs.
