| dc.description.abstract | Works of the Syrian exegete of the Quran, Sheikh Jamal al-Din Al Qasimi (1283 AH / 1866 -1332 AH / 1914 AD), blended the conservative Salafi and the open rational approaches of interpretation in attempt to combine tradition with modernity. This paper deals with the study of the exegesis of Al Qasimi “Mahasin al-Tawil”, focusing on his approach in addressing social issues through his interpretation of the verses of the Quran relating to women's issues in terms of polygamy and inheritance. The research in the outset presents the opinions of Al Qasimi regarding ijtihad, modern sciences and principles of his interpretation. | |
