    Thedisciplinaryboundarybetweensocio-historicalphenomenaandtheliterarytextbecomesincreasinglyuncertainbecauseoftherelationshipbetweensaidtextandthesocio-historicalfactsofthesocietyfromwhichtheliterarytextemanates.HistoricalnovelssuchasthoseofMadamedeLaFayette,GeorgLukàs,EmileZolawereabletopaintthesocietyoftheirtime.AntoninAmangbéKolingba,goinginthesamedirectionintheshortstoryunderstudy,exposestheculturalandhistoricalcontextinAmercommemielpublishedin2017.Thisarticleprovidesasocio-criticaldeconstructionofthesaidshortstory.OurproblematicrevolvesaroundthesearchforthewaysinwhichAmercommemielisanessentialpartofthehistoricalandsocialliteratureofBenin.Asmethodologywehaveadoptedthesocio-criticalapproach.Socio-criticismisatheorythatrevealsthecoherentsetofbeliefsinsociety.Despitethevaluesofthepastevidentintheshortstory,wediscoverthatAmercommemielisashortstorythatbringsbacktomemorysomeofthosecustomsthatthemoresofthemomentrejectbecauseofmodernismandevolution.Also,theevolutionofAfricansocietiesincontemporarytimesdependsonpeoplewhocanexposetheusesandinconveniencesofsocietysothatthefutureofAfricasatisfiesitsdesire.Keywords:socio-criticism,text,sociality,socio-text,amercommemer
