| dc.description.abstract | The Nigeria public servants over the years have been considered to be ineffective and inefficient in the way and manners in which they carried out their responsibilities to the society This made past governments to called for reforms in the public service which did not significantly affect their efficiency. The paper looked at the new public management as a reform carried out by government to rigged the public service of Nigeria the data for the research were generated through secondary source. The paper found out that there is lack of expertise to make NPM successful. Also, with high level of corruption in the country NPM doctrine of decentralization can actually lead to arbitrary action and corruption. It is concluded that new public management is a good reform that can bring efficiency and effectiveness to Nigeria public service if only the necessary precondition menus are met. | |
