Abstract
The aim of this study is to examine occupational health in the Nigerian hospitality industry using premier hotel, Ibadan, as the case study. Workers are exposed to common hazards in the hospitality industry such as ergonomic hazards, mechanical hazard, electrical hazards, chemical hazards, physical hazards and stress hazards. This study adopted a mixed research data collection method, using qualitative and quantitative approach. The findings revealed that work-related injuries and job hazards are common phenomenon in the industry while the management of the hotel have made tremendous effort to reduce the risk associated with working in the hotel through proper orientation of staff, employment of HACCP, and putting measures in place to control workplace injuries and job hazards as applicable to all department in the hotel.
