On the other hand, the responses of face-to-face interview were thematically analyzed. From the data collected and analyzed, the study found that representativeness of local leaders with 0.606 coefficient has significantly affected rural development in Baruten Local Government; in the same vein, the study found that grassroots’ participation with 0.149 coefficient has significantly affected rural development in Baruten Local Government. However, the significance of this can be judged from the P value represented as “sig”. The study therefore, recommended among others that all efforts must be directed at ensuring that elections continue to be conducted in a free and fair atmosphere in order to boost representative leadership. In respect to grassroots’ participation, more ways should be paved for easy mobilization of the general masses at the grassroots who by their new-found intellectual education and level of awareness are now willing to contribute to the socio-political and economic development of their environment. | |
