Abstract
This is a technical paper presented at the Inaugural Technical Presentation of Nigerian Institution of Metallurgical, Mining and Materials Engineers, Ilorin Branch, A Division of Nigerian Society of Engineers. The presentation focuses on state of the art of marble production in Nigeria. The paper discusses chemistry of marble and covers economic projections of marble production globally, indigenous approaches to marble slab and aggregate productions and the requirements for setting up marble plant in Nigeria. Current challenges facing marble production in Nigeria also formed part of the presentation.
