dc.description.abstract | It is widely known that football is an outdoor activity which serves the purposes relaxation for its viewers. To achieve purpose €esr commentary constitutes both events being related as it happens by the commentators. The play-by-play and other issues to the on-going field event which enlighten the viewers better on cither the football clubs or the players—colour-adding, Similarly, the language football' commentary is highly captivating as rhetorical features are employed by commentators to stir the listeners' and viewers' emotive senses. The investigation of the features ltures of morphology and rhetoric that are preponderant in the 2012 final match commentary in the UEFA Champions League the concern of this study. The audio-visual data were transcribed into written form and the morpho-rhetoricai features that are striking in were analyzed on the basis of stylistics. It was discovered from the Study that commentary contains both the features of the play-by-play events, the colour-adding commentaries, are used in the in the data emphasize linguistic variations, accuracy and precision. | |
