dc.description.abstract | This study investigates the influence of wages and salary on workers' productivity in service industry in Kwara State, Nigeria. The basis behind the study is to find out whether wages, salary and employee perception (high & Low wages) can influence workers productivity in service industry in the state. The methodology employed in this study is quantitative; twenty employees were sampled through questionnaire for data collection. The data was analyzed using regression technique trough the SPSS 24.0 with the findings revealing that wages and salary influence worker's productivity in service industry in Kwara state, Nigeria. Also, perception as a moderating variable on wages and salary shows that workers perceived their wages as low wage thus this has led to low productivity. However, the study recommends that there should be moderate increase in wages and salary so as to enhance productivity and change workers' perception of low wages to high wages which will in-turn change job attitude, commitment and improved effectiveness and efficiency of workers in the service industry. | |
