| dc.description.abstract | بعد قاموس صمويل أجيي كروذر أول قاموس لغوي يورباوي في نيجيريا على الإطلاق. تم إصدار طبعته الأولى في سيراليون عام ٣٤٨١م ، ثم الطبعة الثانية عام ٢٥٨١م في أرض الوطن. ولا يستغرب القراء من صنيعه هذا، فقد سبق أن ألف كتبا لغوية أخرى في بعض لغات نيجيريا، كما قام بترجمة الإنجيل إلى يوربا في منتصف الثمانينيات من القرن التاسع عشر الميلادي ومن أبرز مجهوداته الجبارة، تعاونه مع المسيحيين الأجانب ومع بعض. مواطنيه لوضع حروف لاتينية لكتابة يوربا، كل هذا وما طرأت عليها من تحديثات لغوية وتطورات قواعدية عبر العقود حتى يومنا هذا هي التيترمي إليها هذه الدراسة. الكلمات المفتاحية قاموس، أسقف، يوربا، قواعد اللغة The Yoruba Dictionary of Bishop Samuel Ajayi Crowther is regarded the first Yoruba Language Dictionary in the whole Nigeria. Its first edition came to the limelight in 1843 A.D. in Sierra Leone, while the second edition was published in 1852 A. D. in Nigeria. It is not surprising, the author also wrote grammar books of some other Nigerian languages, and translated the Bible into Yoruba in the second half of the 19th century. Of his outstanding endeavours is his collaboration with the foreign and his compatriotChristians to coin Latin alphabets for the writing of Yoruba. All these and the latest development in the grammar of Yoruba are contained in this present study. | |
