A.; HARUNA, T. M.; ZEKERI, A.; MUSTAPHA, N. M.Proactive entrepreneurial practice and market share are two critical components of enterprise productivity and problem-solving dynamism. A proactive entrepreneur anticipates market share growth and pursues business opportunities that will meet future needs. Unfortunately, this has not always been the case in our dynamic business environment. As a result, this study investigates the relationship between proactive entrepreneurial practice and market share of micro. Small and medium enterprises in Niger State From a total population of 425, 000 registered micro, small, and medium enterprises in Niger State. The study raw a sample size of 400 enterprises using the Yamane formula at a 5% level of significance. A five-point Likert type questionnaire was used and administered, as well as a Cronbach Alpha (a) test. Items on proactive entrepreneurial practice were found to be 829 (82.9%) reliable, while items on market share were 0.836 (83.6%). Findings showed that proactive entrepreneurial practice and market share are significantly and favourably correlated, and it was concluded that the regression line of Proac =051 + 0.999Ms can he used to predict the value of market share under different levels of competition. The study recommends that MSMEs owners in Niger State embrace the best practice of proactive measures in managing possible issues that may arise from the operations of different market forces by putting strategies and tactics in place that will automatically respond to unexpected challenges as well as promote the development and expression of entrepreneurial work behaviour among the employees engaged in their enterprises.
