AFRICAN CREATIVE WRITERS AS BEACON OF NATION BUUILDING:A VOYAGE THROUGH TAWFIQ AL- HAKIM'S MASIRUS-SARSAR
    (2024) Yunusa Muhammad Jamiu
The purpose of this essay is to elucidate the fact that contemporary African creative writers, unlike their earlier predecessors, tend to ignore raising consciousness of the political leaders by drumming into them the effects of good and responsible governance. The first generation creative writers explored their creativity to depict their emerging nations and guide the rulers on the importance of good governance. Since the second half of the 20th century, when the African continent began to quickly gain independence from colonial rule, creative writers have served as the conscience and guide of many African nations. Through their inspirational writings, which have consistently illuminated paths for political leaders and kept them on their toes, these writers have played a significant role in shaping their respective societies.
