No.2 December, 2024 = Rajab. 1446AH, 2021) Mohammad Kamel Ahmad, PhDact: By: Mohammad Kamel Ahmad, PhD Kwara State University, Malete, Ilorin, Nigeria mohammadkamelahmad65@gmail.com The number of languages natively spoken in the fifty four (54) African states is variously estimated at between 1,250 and 2,100, and by some counts at over 3000.2) These languages belong to many distinct language families. Of all these languages, five (5) are the most used by their speakers in terms of population within the African continent. The five are Arabic, Swahili, Hausa, Oromo, and Yoruba. Each of these languages is spoken by multiple African countries by small or large population. They are the leading African languages attested to by scholars and researchers and confirmed by different and rigorous studies conducted thus far.

III,July - September 2024, 2024) Mohammad Kamel Ahmad, PhDNigeria is a multi-lingual, a multi-ethnic and a multi-cultural nation with Hausa, Ibo and Yoruba as its national languages. Although other Nigerian languages are in acrimonious rivalries with these official languages, Nigerian successive governments have been promoting other local languages in order tofoster a peaceful co-existence in the polity. Moreover, strong loyalty expected ofthe Nigerian peoples to Nigerian languages is sharply shared between Nigerian official as well as local languages and some recognized foreign languages in Nigeria. Despite that Arabic, English and French languages are of enviable positions in Nigeria and are equally promoted by government and individuals, Nigerian national and local languages have been playing divisive and destructive roles among divergent Nigerian ethnic groups. Using the descriptive and analytical methods to achieve the intended research goal of the current studies, the paper has conclusively arrived at an outcome that linguistic jingoism inherent in all Nigerians has been responsible for a lack of trust amongst the Nigerians. In the same vein, there are other multi-lingual, multi-ethnic and multi-cultural nations in the world which are of multilingualism related conflicts, rumblings and vendetta, no matter how high is the level of their civilization, sophistication and education..

NO. 1 (JULY 2018), 2018) Mohammad Kamel Ahmad, PhDإن الإهتمام والعناية بشرح غريب ألفاظ القرآن الكريم والحديث النبوي الذين يعدان المصدرين المهمين للدين الإسلامي كانا المقدمة للناية بسائر مفردات اللغة شعرا ونثرا، ذلك لأن كلا المصدرين لم يستوعبا ثروات لغوية برمتها،. فيجب على علماء اللغة بذل المزيد من الجهود في توضيح وتذليل ما يصعب فهمه من الألفاظ العربية المعقدة. وقد قام علماء اللغة بوضع المعاجم اللغوية بشتى الأشكال منهم من جمع الألفاظ المتعلقة بالنبات والأشجار والكلا،ً ومنهم من جمع وألف في مفردات ذات الصلة بالحيوان كالخيل والفرس وبالحشرات والأماكن، كما وضع بعضهم كتابا في المعرب والدخيل والأعجمي وغيرها.
