    Arubic language and Islamic education in West Africa is faced with different problems. During the colonial era,insurmountuble obstacles were laid on the smooth ways of the Arabic lunguage and the Islamic education scholarship. However, in the post colonial period. Arabic language md Islamic education began to flourish and witness an unprecedented development, alheit at different pace, in every country of the region. Steps needed to be taken for the sustuinability ofS the advancement of Arabic and Islamic education in the twenty first century are explicitly elucidated in this paper.
