    Effect of Flexible Work Arrangement on Job Satisfaction of Clinical Staff of University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital

    Employees in public health institutions particularly clinical staff are seen to be more engaged in their duty posts compared to the nonclinical staff. These categories of staff have limited or no time to balance- up their work life when compared with their counterparts. This and many more reasons are why many organizations have recognized the importance of developing a culture that supports employees' attempt to balance their work and family responsibilities. The general objective of this paper is to examine the effect of flexible work arrangement of the clinical staff of University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, Kwara State. The study specific objective is to determine the extent to which flexible work arrangement affect clinical staff job satisfaction in University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital. A survey research method was adopted with a population of two thousand one hundred and twenty five (2125) while using three hundred and twenty five (325) as its sample size generated through a Creative Research Calculator. Primary method of data collection was used using closed ended questionnaire with the aid of a five points Likert scale to ascertain the degree of respondents' opinion. The study further used tables and frequencies for the descriptive statistics. The inferential statistics employed include ANOVA and Regression Analysis with the aid of SPSS version 25.0. Findings from the study showed that flexible work arrangement has significant effect on job satisfaction. The study therefore concludes that flexible work arrangement for staff increases job satisfaction. The study, however, recommends that Nexible work arrangement by the University of llorin Teaching Hospital (UITH) management should be a thing of concern particularly to clinical staff with a view to making their respective lasks and responsibilities flexible to enable staff derive satisfaction on their jobs.
