Abstract
The United Nations Organization was formed in 1945. However, one of its aims was to protect various generation of mankind from witnessing another war which had twice bedeviled mankind. By 1975 a sub-regional organization known as Economic Community of West African State was created to achieve economic integration within the West African sub-region. But its dramatic move to Economic (ECOMOG) as a peace-keeping mission and later to peace-enforcement force made it spectacular in World politics. But this area has not been adequately evaluated by scholars. Therefore, this paper examined the place of sub-regional organizations in world politics, 1945 – 1975; The Example of Economic Community of West African States. Thus, this article employs the use of both Primary and Secondary Sources to further improve upon the work under consideration. This work concludes that Economic Community of West African States requires the support of all particularly, the sub-regional states to achieve its set goal in international politics and economic emancipation in Africa.
