A low–grade gold mineralization occurrence has been mapped around Bishewa area, Central Nigeria. This is closely related to series of parallel subsidiary shear zones that are associated with regional lineaments. Petrographic studies revealed spatial and temporal associations existing between gold mineralization and quartz-filled shear zones. This suggests that the gold mineralization in Bishewa is structurally controlled but with no lithological preference.
