    Educational Policy Implementation in Nigeria: Challenges and Prospects

    The striving of Nigeria to transit from developing countries to developed nation can only be actualized if her educational system is maximally developed. It is an undisputable fact that nation educational development will be of mirage than reality without appropriate implementation of her educational policies since it is not enough just to make policies. Thus, the study examines educational policies implementation in Nigeria: problem and prospects. It scholarly looked into the concept of educational policy, policy implementation, philosophy and goal of Nigeria educational system, factors militating effective of educational policy in Nigeria, problems and strategies for effective implementation. The study concluded that effective implementation of educational policy is imperative to enhance educational standard. The study suggested among others that relevant stakeholders in educational system should be adequately represented and consulted in the process of policy planning , formulation and implementation, adequate funding and set up various programmes for policy implementation. Anti corruption agencies should be given legislative backing and mandate to check the operational arbitrariness and deficiencies of policy makers and implementers for efficacy of educational policy implementation.Autjors
